Hey guys,

I just re-read the topic on the labby in Monte Carlo Anecdotes and it has a method for the labby that must, I think, eventually bring us out on top.

link:://:.archive.org/stream/montecarloanecdo00bethiala#page/91/mode/1up

Go to this link and read the whole article on the labby especially starting on page 95.

I think I will test horror session #7 the way the author details and see if I can come out on top.

It'll be a good exercise for me.

If I can't come out on top then I will incorporate some of our tweaks like playing more than 1 even chance even up to all three and see if that can make any difference.

I'm thinking that if we can come up with a method that can be employed to prevent us from every losing no matter how long it takes to get back to even, that will be good because most of the time we will be winning steadily until we hit the cursed streak.

Or, will we get in the hole so far that we can never get back to the top?

Wish me luck, ???

1st test.

Method:  I started with 10 labbies of  1-1-1 for a total investment of 30 units.

I played each labby until I either cleared it or lost.  On a loss, I just went to the next labby.

I put a maximum loss on 1 bet of 5 units.  Once there were no labbies remaining that I could bet and lose less than 5 units on, I totaled all my outstanding units and divided by 10 to see how many units I would need in each of the 10 new labbies.

At the end of my first set of 10, I was 73 in the hole.  That meant that I needed 7 labbies with 7 units in them and 3 labbies with 8 units in them.

At the end of my 2nd set of 10, I was 162 in the hole.

At the end of my 3rd set I was 376 in the hole.

At the end of my 4th set I was 583 in the hole.

At the end of my 5th and final set I was only down 310 units.

This isn't all bad.  My largest bet was only 30 units and I was decreasing in the size of my units for the next 10 labbies.  Unfortunately, I had run out of spins to play.  Were I to go into a more even standard deviation period, I think that I could have recovered completely.  On the other hand if this session from hell had continued, I would have gone deeper into the hole.

I can control all of that by splitting the amount in the hole between more and more labbies, thus keeping my bets down to no more than say 10 or 15 units max.  This would take much longer to work through, but I could control my game more.  I think I would have to stay alive until a good run of hits to fully recover.

I will play around with it some more and report back.

hi GLC, thanks for the book very interesting.

I've done the first 20 spins

please tell me if I play it correctly.

GLC

06,

I can't tell because my spreadsheet doesn't show where you've crossed out the wins.

But it looks like you have done the losses correctly.

I still don't think we have recovered enough in the spins of session 7 to win with this particular method.  I think we would have to have another 50 or so spins with a decent hit rate.

Feels a little schizophrenic replying to myself.

Anyway, I don't think this method of labby can handle the loss vs wins of these horror sessions posted by Bayes.  You'd be better off just flat betting.

So, I'm giving up on the multiple labbies.  With this hit rate, I don't think there's any way to come out ahead without placing some pretty high bets and getting lucky enough to have a better hit ratio during those times.

George

P.S.  I guess your all getting you rest before the big game tomorrow.  Or does anybody even care about the Super Bowl outside the US?  Unfortunately, I dislike both teams, so I think I'll take a nap tomorrow afternoon.

Test the Labby and split it when it becomes higher bets?? On a NOZ it may work, if we can wait for weeks for catching up. The new rules at BV may stop it, as we must make a session ending in 24 hours, otherwise we will be taxed 10% of the amount we are back.  I think the reason they "invented" this is to defend the casino from players which using marathon style, with many smaller units, and do not give up until on track.

At the time the sessions had no limits in time, the NOZ was (almost) beatable. Some stop while a head, other went on until at least break even, which is the expected value, if we got the bankroll and time.

Good point Ralph has made here;;;

tho, just to be clear for everyone reading, its -10% tax within a 24 hour continuous period of play, on PROFIT only.

If U are in profit, and end the game for a Break, U lose 10% of any profit you have made to that point, with the game.

If we fell back, and the session ends, it is count as profit next session if we win it back.   If we dive and come back in the session it is not taxed.
That make it difficult if it takes very long time to recover.
