Mogul,
Gr8 refers to the gr8player's progression. The guy is a baccarat veteran and he came up with that progression and claimed to have success with it.

The progression is as follows:
1111111
2222222
3333333
4444444
5555555

You bet at each level 7 times.

At Level 1, you bet 1 unit each time. At level 2, you bet 2 units each time.  In other words, at any level n, you bet n units each time. Got it?

So after betting 1 unit 7 times, if you see that you are in positive territory, then you continue betting at that level. If you are in negative territory, then you go to level 2 wherein you bet 2 units. At any time at that level, if you are in overall positive territory, you go back to level 1.

If after betting 2 units 7 times, you find that you are still in negative territory, then you move up to level 3.

So you continue this process until you are in positive territory. As soon as that happens, you go back to level 1.

According to the gr8player, it is usually not necessary to go beyond level 5 (i.e. the 5 unit level).

You can read the gr8player's posts in the baccarat section at
betselection.cc. Hope this helps you.

Gr8 chains can be any length you want them to be.  I personally think 5 is the optimum length and that is what I use.

Other posts are correct about 80% win rate and loss of units on a 3 no show.  That is why I said use whatever progression that you think suitable and left it to the player to decide.

This needs working on and that is why I posted it in The Notepad.

Yes, I remember reading that. I also think 5 might be more optimal than 7, but I posit that more because of intuitive reasons than empirical ones.
What is the fastest way of destroying your bankroll at the casino?

Play roulette with GLC's progressions.

Thanks Doctor.

I remember that, but didn't associate the name with the
progression.

Jim Ferr and I, 20 odd years ago, were playing with that
exact thing. OF course, flailing around wondering if we should
be betting 10x, or 5x or whatever.

Didn't feel outstanding, so we stopped.

Anyone feel differently?

That's actually not a bad idea or thought.

Next thing is to gut the bathroom

New floors. New appliances. New furniture.

Painted siding because we don't want to spend 10,000 on vinyl right now

Floors ain't bad right

I hit that point with painting the house. I'm 60 and got beat up the last 2-3
years to accelerate it. So I paid the $10K 2 years ago. I'm DONE.

It's amazing. I have a two bedroom ranch. 10k for siding. Same price as every other house big or small

Hi RG,

So, sales people are the same in USA as UK.  They assess you and quote what they think that they can get away with.  Call their bluff and say you will think about it.   I have had sales people call me later and quote a lower price.  Then they call at my house and tell me that they are doing a property around the corner and if they can do the 2 at the same time then a lower price still.  By that time I say that I was only thinking about paying xxxx and generally we will come to a deal.  I am in sales myself and could tell you lots of tricks that they try to get you to say yes.

To me it is all fun and games.
