Odds and payouts are different things. If either the odds or payouts don't change, then the result is the same - eventual loss.

Just diving headlong into roulette gamblers fallasy, aka trying to predict future spins based on the past.

Theory: The idea been tumbling about in my head as i keep seen the same happening. Aka current pattern will usually end forming another know pattern.

Lets take the old EC Red (R)/Black (B) for clarification.

Take the 2 uncommon pattern:
RBRBRBRBRBRBR (fully varation)
and
RRRRRRRBBBBBB (fully streaking).

And the common patterns:
RRRBRRBRRRBRRR (Red hot, Black cold)
BBRBBBBBRBBRBB (Black hot, Red cold)
RRRBBRRRRBBBRR (Both hot)

Idea: always felt the spins came in a circular fashion from "fully variation" then thru multiple "common" patterns and then ending up in "fully streaking" .. before moving the reverse way back to "fully cariation" again. Not always of cause and infact it can instantly change back .. but probability is against it. In general the "extreme" uncommon patterns seem to alternate between them. Perhaps a uncommon pattern like RBRBRBRBRBRB is a good starting point as you know its will end at some point. Im highly against betting on cold numbers/patterns so id wait for a trigger like one or both R and B turning hot (streaking at least 2 in a row) and then bet on it to continue while having in mind that it can change after few spins but will hopefully stay for 5-10 spins at least.

I guess its a very complex way of saying something as simple as "if Red is cold, then bet on Black but keep an eye for it to change". However if we look at something with more variation and complexity, like 6 number lines, where there are genuine "rare" patterns like hitting the same line 6x times in a row like 4,4,4,4,4,4 to uncommon 1,2,6,5,4,3 where each line is represented to common pattern where at least 1 line is a repeat 6,2,6,5,4,3. It at least to me suggest aiming for the "hot" repeats thru variation. Even not knowing what the exact pattern could be next waiting for a trigger of 2 or 3 unique lines and then bet (all 3 with a small progression) that one of them will repeat seems viable because of the strong variation.

Anyways, just a bit of thinking on pattern & variation. Hot repeats are good & cold is bad. Probably nothing new & just stating the obvious again. Just putting it here for safeskeeping  :)

Not sure about red black theory, this type of bets is boring, impossible to catch pattern on this way.
