I thought making a super easy and free drop and drag custom system tester would be the best idea. Because it is free, easy, can test any system, and is the easiest option for members to test their system.

It appears members disagree, and would rather organize combined funds to pay a coder to test.

I think thats impractical because most members wont want to pay anything. And it will lead to arguments about system rights, unless the system loses. And if they had a system that worked, $100 or so for a rx coder would be nothing. I think it would be needlessly time consuming compared to a super simple system tester anyone can use in minutes.

Nevertheless, if anyone wants to do this, you dont need my help. Just start a thread in the testing board and suggest a system to code.

I think the greater problem is most members dont care to test properly anyway. Thats probably why when proper testing is explained, they turn a blind eye to it. Coding systems may help some members, but it wouldn't resolve ignorance. But ignorance is the members own doing and own problem anyway.

Quote from: Joe on Oct 20, 11:50 AM 2018I agree, and anyway it won't solve the problem which is that nobody wants to pay a coder and no coder can be expected to work for nothing.

How does asking people to pay a coder solve the problem of people not wanting to pay a coder?

Because almost everyone who wants to see a system coded can afford $1. That's the difference. Right now anyone can have their system coded by the guys at UXSoftware but they don't because they don't want to pay $50 or $100.

It can't be done. Either you have something quite basic which will only be able to code simplistic systems which everyone knows don't work anyway, or you have so many options that using an ordinary programming language would actually be easier. There have already been many attempts to make programming easier and more user friendly but those projects never take off because the syntax isn't the hard thing about programming. You can't just add fancy graphics or english sounding commands and expect programming to suddenly become simple.

Logic. It's always in the way.

Drag and drop to perform the same function as rx code cant be done?

Do you think you could find 50-100 members to pay for the coding? I think youd probably struggle to find 10. But even just 1 member who paid $50+ is really no big investment. It shouldn't need crowdfunding.

Either way, you can easily do what you suggested in the testing board.
