There are a  variety of bets for EC's.
One of the more aggressive is to add 1 unit to each bet until you reach a new high and then you start over with 1 unit.
In other words, if I lose my 1 unit bet I then bet 2 units.
If I lose my 2 unit bet I then bet 3 units.
If I lose my 3 unit bet I then bet 4 units.
If I lose my 4 unit bet I then bet 5 units.
If I win my 5 unit bet I then bet 6 units because I was down -1-2-3-4=-10+5=-5
Still -5 units so I can't start over at 1 unit and therefore must be 6 units.
If I win my 6 unit bet, I will be +1 for the series and can now start over at 1 unit.

A little less aggressive way is to bet each number of units 2 times before going to the next level.  E.g. 1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-5-6-6-7-7, etc... 
When you finally reach a new high, start over.

Depending on how safe you want to be, you can bet each number 3 or 4 or 5 or more times before going to the next level. 
Just keep going up until you finally are at a new high.
With a large enough bank and plenty of you know what, you will eventually reach a new high.
Of course this can be adapted to any of the bets.

A good EC bet selection method is:
Begin by playing for alternating colors.  (Or Even/Odd or Hi/Lo) 
If the 1st spin is B, then bet for R
If R hits, then bet for B, etc...
If 1st spin is B, and 2nd spin is B, it means you lost
Now, since you have 2 B's, bet for doublets, that is bet R
If R spins, bet for R again, then B, then B, then R, then R, etc...
If 1st spin is B and second spin is B and 3rd spin is B, bet for B to continue streaking
Anytime you have more than 2 of a color and the other color spins, bet for alternating color to hit.

That's it.
You can't improve on this EC bet selection.

Some examples:
R = bet for B  begin by betting for chops
RB= bet for R
RBRR= bet for B
RBRRB= bet for B
RBRRBB= bet for R
RBBB= bet for B
RBRRRB= bet for R
etc... etc... etc...

Try this with the above betting method and see the dollars pile up. 
Most of the time.

I like the bet selection George, I think it's better than the "trending" system I posted recently. The nemesis is consecutive series of 3: BBB RRR BBB...

As for the progression, you might like to try a modified version of the D'Alembert; increase by 1 unit after each loss, but only after the FIRST win do you decrease by 1 unit, thereafter, hold the stake the same until you're back in profit.

3 L
4 L
5 L
6 W -- now reduce stake by 1u
5 W -- don't reduce further - keep to 5u
5 L  -- increase by 1u
6 W -- a win - reduce stake by 1u
5 W -- keep same

By reducing the stake after a win you're locking in some profit, and you still get a "ratcheting" effect, but you have more "leverage" than a conventional D'Alembert. Personally I don't like the "ever increasing" progression because when you get a series of alternating wins and losses, the stakes are pushed ever higher but with only small increases in profit.

Good idea Bayes.

I'm with you re: ever increasing bet sizes.

I definitely like your idea of only increasing on the first win.

Keeping the bets under control, but still having enough punch to get out of a hole.

I'll give it a try and see how it performs.

It was late when I made the last post so it doesn't make much sense.

What I meant to say was keeping bets low is always a good idea.

My post above is for a very aggressive bet system.

Look at my tweak to Trioplay or Oscar's Grind or Pluscoup, whatever you want to call it.

I'm still working on it.  It definitely keeps the bet size low unless the streak from hell.

I was thinking that a further addition could be to have to wait for 3 wins to increase bet size if losses get too overwhelming.

Another thought is to start by increasing 1 unit after a win until you are betting 5 units and then go to waiting for 2 wins before increasing until you get to betting 8 units and then wait for 3 wins before raising you bet size.

That would keep your bet size low and still give some ability to recover if you're deep in the hole.

Of course nothing will always work.  Occasionally we are going to need a stop loss to prevent a total melt-down.
