hi folks,

I have two questions concerning the doz. and the col.  and I hope someone can help.

1. if you place a bet on one of the doz. and on one of the col., what is the probability of winning both bets?

2. what is the probability that the same col./ doz. result will repeat the next spin?

cheers

There is 37/38 possible outcomes.

1.   To have both the column and dozen win you are only utilizing 4 spaces out of those 37-38 possible outcomes.   We will use a 00 wheel for this example, so aprox.  10. 5% chance give or take.

2.   For it to happen again, you are looking at the same formula.   10. 5% chance of having the ball land in one of the 4 same spots.   If you look at it from the start and say "what are the chances of having the ball land in group 1,4,7,10 then land in same group 1,4,7,10 then you should divide the remaining board into the respective groups of 4 (ex: 2,5,8,11) with a final group of 2 (0 & 00) thus having 9. 5 possible groups to land in.   If you do it this way there are 90 or so possible 2 roll outcomes.   For the ball to land in your block twice, you are using up 16 of those 90 possible 2 roll outcomes.   Giving you a 18% chance give or take.
