Since the same analysis was done over at VLS RouletteForum, when Victor sold it then, I just wonder, does the same Value hold or, or Not Hold up as before?

The daily $$$ from selling ads a day is CENTS, and those "website worth" sites overvalue big time. (or undervalue if you ask website owners. i.e. for playborne.com the net worth as given by webworth is $799 ( link:://:.webworth.info/playborne.com ) BUT if you ask the webmaster he will say it is worth no less than $7,000... ask a buyer and he will say $500 perhaps... it is always like that. One is the value for the owner, another is the value for the buyer and another value for the assesment sites (because nobody likes to be said his site is worth pennies, so they might choose to overvalue if they want to be visited).


The actual website value usually goes lower, way lower even depending on who you ask. As for this sale, I have a full year IT contract, that's what's really worth for me: getting paid for what I've been doing for free

P.S. Do not take the value of the assesment sites too seriously, in "mywebsiteworth" playborne.com is valued at $33 bucks. Still try offering $33 bucks to the current owner and see his answer ( link:://:.mywebsiteworth.com/site/playborne.com )


The actual value is exactly what the current owner takes from within what the interested party offers, and furthermore if there are any side long-term benefits in the transfer. For instance, a web designer may give his property for close to nothing for a long-term contract for his design work, a coupon site owner may be able to lower his requirement in exchange of free coupons from the interested company for the life of the website, etc. etc.


Every site and every owner is a case with their own case-to-case private deal. (i.e. I remind the case of "MikeRoweSoft" (yes, it SOUNDS like Microsoft), where [Mike] "Rowe granted ownership of the domain to Microsoft in exchange for Microsoft products and training."

That pretty much summarizes it. The value may be dollars or some other benefits and it strictly depends on who the current owner is, and what he is more interested in achieving for him with the move.

In the opening of this Topic, I gave no opinion, no bias, no expression of "worth" either way.


I merely read all about the time when U were leaving VLSroulett.com, and selling to Steve.


I read too, all the reasons U then gave as to Y U were leaving/selling.


And...........the valuation item, became evident.
I just wanted to know, given the Tough World Economic climate we all live in now, if current valuations, were realistic in any way.


U have provided the answer most admirably. thank u.
