Hey Twister.

I don't think this riddle makes the grade.

Properly spoken, the p is not silent. Therefore emty does not sound the same.

Any way, I really enjoy the riddles. Keep it up.

Thanks
Michael

And the next Riddle !

You are a detective on a case.

You walk into a room.. there are 5 chairs around a table and 4 dead men with bullet holes in their foreheads.
There are 53 Bicycles scattered around the room.

Why did the men die?

Its Set In Stone =)

chrisbis

Something to do with a fifth man maybe?

can anyone else expand on this "pulled-out-of-thin-air-theory" of mine?

Twisteruk

U're on the right track mate  :)

Ok. Lets put down what we have as facts.

Im a detective (well im not, my daughter is, but she's busy right now, so can't ask here at the mo)

One Room- can enter by walking into it

Five chairs, which would equal 20 legs

One table- doesn't say how many legs it has.

Four men, presumably all with two arms each, two legs each, and definitely one head each

All the men have been shot in the forehead.

Four bullets, or one bullet, the men were all in a line and the one bullet did them all.

53 bicycles, which should have two wheels each= 106 wheels, 106 tyres, 53 seats 53 handle bars.

The bicycles are scattered around the room.

And the dead men may also be scattered.

All the men are dead.

Question is- "Why did the men die?"

Oh, and there made well be a fifth man involved in the scam/murder, who might it could be assumed, escaped on another bike (bicycle)
which would have made 54 bicycles in total, which does not divide by 4 or 5 exactly.

Mmmmmmmmmmm?

Mikeo

Hi Chris and Twister,

I would suggest that the 53 bicycles are playing cards.

Perhaps the 5th man was caught cheating (that extra card, there are only 52 in a deck), but beat them to the draw and shot the other 4.
