Hi twister,

Did you ever notice that in some episodes the word The is underlined.

I always wondered why. Do you happen to know?

Here is the next Riddle !

Max got the call at 1am, waking him from a sound sleep. What shocked him into immediate awareness were the words: ââ,¬Å"We have a murder.ââ,¬Â Max was in his car racing to the crime scene in minutes.

As he entered, he was greeted by Officer Brent. ââ,¬Å"Whatââ,¬â,,¢s the scoop, Brent?" Officer Brent went on to give Max the Lowdown:

ââ,¬Å"The vic is somewhat famous, thatââ,¬â,,¢s why they called you. His name is Charlie Baker, AKA Cocktail Charlie. He was a famous mixologist, inventing many of the popular drinks they serve in fancy clubs and restaurants. He was having one of his famous parties this evening, and as it was winding down, he was found stabbed to death behind his own bar.ââ,¬Â

How ironic, thought Max, as he looked around the room. Brent continued: ââ,¬Å"He must have saw the attack coming, because he grabbed at a couple of bottles of booze just before he died. He probably was trying to ward off the attack with the only thing handy. He was, after all, behind the bar."
Brent went on, ââ,¬Å"There were only five people in the house at the time, hereââ,¬â,,¢s a list of suspects for ya. Itââ,¬â,,¢s your ballgame now, Detective."

Max looked the list over, hereââ,¬â,,¢s what it said:
Suspect 1: Mary Plazmar, Charlieââ,¬â,,¢s girlfriend. Sheââ,¬â,,¢s the one who found the body and called the police. Charlie and Mary had been together for ten years, but never married. As time went on, this became a bigger and bigger problem for Mary, but she usually kept quiet about this.

Suspect 2: Robert Corduroy III, he was Charlieââ,¬â,,¢s business manager. Theyââ,¬â,,¢d been working together for years and were inseparable. Corduroy managed Charlieââ,¬â,,¢s appearances and book signings. As Charlie got on in years, he chose to do less and less work, and more and more partying. Corduroy was constantly hounding Charlie to ââ,¬Å"get to work,ââ,¬Â but to little avail.

Suspect 3: Thomas Collinsworth, Charlieââ,¬â,,¢s best friend. They would travel together. There were rumors that the two were more than friends, but they were just rumors as far as anyone was concerned. The rumors also said that he and Mary hated each other, for obvious reasons.

Suspect 4: Jack Danielson, Charlieââ,¬â,,¢s money guy. He managed the millions of dollars Charlie made off of his books. Charlie loved to party but wasnââ,¬â,,¢t very good with money. Word on the street was that Jack lived far beyond his means and had been possibly skimming money from Charlieââ,¬â,,¢s accounts for years.

Suspect 5: Jonathon Walkerson, who happens to be heir to the Walkerson fortune. His father made it big in checkerboards in the early 1900ââ,¬â,,¢s. He and Charlie were old drinking buddies, and had gotten into a few bar room brawls together. He was a bear of a man that wasnââ,¬â,,¢t considered too bright.

Max looked the list over quickly, but then focused on the dead body behind the bar. There were the normal paraphernalia youââ,¬â,,¢d expect behind the bar of a master mixologist: Shot glasses, cork screws, glass pitchers, can openers, and different size measuring jiggers. What amazed Max was the stock behind the bar. Heââ,¬â,,¢s never seen so many bottles of booze in his life. Every name brand you could think of.

Lying on the floor of the bar was poor Charlie. Covered in blood, one hand clutching at the knife stuck in his back, the other hand clutching a bottle of Martini and Rossi, just as Officer Brent had reported. The smallish bottle had been no match for the huge knife that had done him in.

Just then, Officer Brent walked up and informed Max that the five suspects were in the sitting room, waiting to be interviewed.

ââ,¬Å"Thereââ,¬â,,¢s only one of them I want to talk to, Officer. You see, I already know who the killer is.ââ,¬Â

What tipped Max off to the killerââ,¬â,,¢s identity?

Here is the next Riddle !!

If you have an unlimited amount of sugar, one standard 5 kilo weight, and a balance scale.

I want you to weigh exactly 7 kilos sugar using the balance scale ONLY.
you can use it as much as you want!

Any other method is NOT allowed.

Good Luck  ;D
Its Set In Stone =)

sekuritati

You take 5 kg weight and use it to weigh 5kg sugar.

Then you take away the weight and move 1 half of the pile of sugar on the one end of the scale and keep moving/taking away to the 5kg pile until it is leveled. Now you have 2.5 kg on each side of the scale.

You do the same and now you have 1,250 on each side of the pile.

You do the same and now you have 0,625 on each side of the pile.

You do the same and now you have 0,3125 on each side of the pile.

You do the same and now you have 0,1565 on each side of the pile.

Now you take the weight and start weighing 5 kgs of sugar and put it in a pile. You do that 9 times until you have 45 kgs of sugar in a pile.

Now you start halving again the pile in the same manner as above. First halving gives you 22.5kg, second one 11.25, third one 5.6, fourth one 2.8, fifth one 1.4, sixth one 0.7, seventh one 0.350.

Now you combine those 0.350 with the 0.1565 from the above pile and you have 0.56kgs of sugar in a pile.

Now you measure 5 kgs with the weight, then halve it with the same principal above to get two 2.5kg piles. You discard one of those piles, measure 5 kgs again with the weight and add the 2.5kg pile to that. You now have 7.5 kgs of sugar.

Now you put the 0.56kgs pile on the one side of the scale and start to take out from the 7.5kg pile of sugar small amounts until the scale is leveled.

Now you are left with 7kgs of sugar plus minus 6 grams.

Well I looked at this riddle in 100 different angles and this solution is the most accurate 7 kgs I can achieve. If someone else wants to try to do it, be my guest  :)
