Boston Mass. Incident Today :'(

@Forum: There has been a bombing incident in Boston, Massachusettes at the marathon event.  Two have died and at least 50 have been injured.  Thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Terrorist target weak spots. They found a weak spot -- security was probably weak around Marathon events, because such events were never targeted before. I hope security officials will draw their conclusions from this and this tragedy will not be in vain. People learn from mistakes. Hopefully this is gonna be a lesson for some organizations responsible for security and public peace.

The reality is ALWAYS if someone wants to create a bomb and kill people, it will always be easy to do. Can it be stopped by everyone giving up liberties so the government has greater authority over us? NOPE. There will always be ****ed up people and if someone wants to stick you with a knife while waiting in line for whatever, they can. A car could hit you too. You could die of a heart attack or whatever. None of it is cause for panic or fear. Some countries live with this kind of thing daily, at the hands of US forces. Except Fox news doesn't show you this. It doesnt make what happened less of a tragedy, but helps put things into perspective.

The timing for this kind of thing to happen is about right but I'm sure there will be more and worse soon enough.

Gun control won't work.  You can stop a bomber.  Or a man with a knife.  Or a man behind the wheel of a car.  Or the man who pushes the young woman onto the subway tracks. 

All we can do is realize we are fragile little creatures subject to the whims of every devil that comes along.  Enjoy today.  Just because you saw the sun rise doesn't mean you'll see it set.

these are my words of this year . I like it , because this is the sort of life I live.....

Why save up all your money, when you might not be able to spend and enjoy it. Tried to tell that my mother during cancer and she just didn't want to see the world while she had the chance.... Now she's gone.....

I don't think this was a terrorist attack. This looks to simple for me....  Terrorist would have put the bombing at the start to cause big damage....
To me it looks like its a group of wannabes.

That's why there is a saying, don't look up places of intrest.....

But this shows again, it doesn't matter how prepared you are, there is allways a way around it....

I think it was a simple bomb, and knowledge from internet. It  is near impossible, to stop such things happens if the society has such tensions some are determed to do it.

Sam I know you have different views regarding arms than we have here. We have tight regulations, but criminals by definition do not obey the laws, so the problem is still. We are quite a few hunters as well, so millions of legal guns exist.

Yes, I see your point.  Someone also said the bombs were place by a brick wall which would direct the force.  So maybe that's it.  I fear it is terrorism and I fear more will follow.

Gun control is like going down to the city dump and placing a sign saying "No Flies Allowed". 

Here's one from "The Twilight Zone".  The prevalent fear among those who fear is that suicide bombers will remove their insides and place bombs in the cavity.  You can live without a few parts for a few hours.  Think I'm nuts.  They do scar checks sometimes at airports.

A runner reports heightened security in the area, even before the race.   Reports of a drill being announced as an explanation for all the bomb squad type presence. Another report of a runner taken out of the race and told he was too dehydrated to keep running. He was in Army intelligence. 

Let's find out who the main media is going to blame(demonize), and then trace it back to who gains most from the blame.   

Remember, there is a hot debate going on with gun control, and some kind of bill is going from the Senate to the House.  It would be a good time to remind the House, through this terrorism, to vote accordingly. 

One more thing, this bomb was aimed at people generally/indiscriminately...AT PEOPLE.  This is a hint.

its a difficult thing for a sane person to comprehend something someone does who is insane.
The first one is the worse. No one is looking for anything.

If there are more to come, people are more aware and vigilant. patterns form and mistakes are made. I guess the mistakes are already made and will be spotted, in cell phone calls, CCTV, Facebook, websites, fingerprint on a bomb fragment, suspicious friends and family who didn't say anything.

Crazy as it is, the bomber was probably in the crowd further up to watch.....thats a recognised pattern.

Now its confirmed three dead, including an 8 year old boy who was waiting for his dad to finish the race................plus over 150 seriously injured, some having lost limbs.................
I will keep my thoughts, to prayers and condolences.

I would like to point out a pattern:
    911 - happened during a government sponsored drill
  London subway bombing - happened during a government sponsored drill
  Sandy Hook - happened during a government sponsored drill
  Boston bombing - reports coming out that it happened during a government drill

All these drills were mocking the very scenarios that actually took place. 

I have heard that McVeigh was to Oklahoma bombing what Lee Harvey Oswald was to the JFK assassination.  I have not looked too much into the Oklahoma bombing but have heard some things and would not rule out rogue elements at the Federal level. 

From a historical point of view, nation states have not been above their own brand of terrorism, all in an effort to control the populace.  A Roman governor, for example, used to crucify Jews once a year, placing them outside the gates of Jerusalem during the 'Passover' holiday for all to see as they arrived from all over the world.  Today, the U.S. government is attempting to hand  down hundred year sentences on hacker-activists like Aaron Swartz.  Absolutely, this is intended to terrorize all of us.
