How many placed bets is an acceptable benchmark in order to find out your longest losing streak?

1k,5k,10k or more?..............remember this is placed bets and not spins

If you went through 5k PLACED BETS and found your longest losing streak to be no more then 7 would you feel comfortable going to do battle in the casino if you designed a progression to go 10 steps?

I think it would be interesting to hear what everyone thinks about this

5,000 placed bets doesn't go past 7?

I wouldn't bet the house on a 10 step loss not happening because we know it's just around the corner at that point...but I would feel strong enough about it to give it a go for sure...maybe 20% of available bankroll as my bet limit through the 10 step progression if necessary.

If it wins for awhile...use the winnings to amp up the bankroll for the method and keep that wheel spinning.

I am of course assuming you are testing against real wheel spins and not RNG... and then translating that to the real thing

The house isnt going up anytime soon  Anything can happen, but it has its limits. Nobody has ever seen 100 Black in a row. The record for EC is in the 30s.

Point is, what would people consider a good benchmark to be in order to determine the longest losing streak???????????

5000 placed bets in a casino environment is a lot of time at the table...if I could sit down for sessions totalling what 120-150 hours and never suffer a loss (of course I'm going on spins for the hours and you are on bets...so I don't know how much  "downtime" there is)  I would probably feel pretty good that I had done my due diligence and roll with it.

It's great to test thoroughly and I am a huge advocate of testing, tweaking and testing some more...but sometimes you just have to place the bets...I think you're ready to place bets on the method...if you get your clock cleaned a couple times after a 5000 placed bet test run...you have to see if there's a flaw in the methodology or just bad luck at the worst possible time...but if it's good thru 5000 virtual bets...

Let the winning commence!

Big EZ,  Have you read the system "Roulette 2000"?  It discusses this issue quite a bit.
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

Something else you can do is look at the steps of your progression and add up all the units won at each step.

Divide the total by the steps of your progression ( lets say 10 in this case )

The result is your average win with this progression.

Now take your total cost of your progression if it BUSTS and divide this by the average win.

Ex: Say your BUST is 150 units and your average win is 15 units ( 150/15=10)

That means you have to win 10 bets per every 1 lost.

If your results show a better average than your calculations .... go for it

ddarko

there was a guy over at VLS that said when testing a system, 10,000 PLACED bets was the minimum.

GLC,

I have not checked that out, but I will now

Buff,
Thanks for that, but isnt that just figuring out how many times you have to win before a progression busts out to be in profit? Thats not exactly what I was trying to figure out

ddarko,
Well I am a little over half way there to reach 10k placed bets. Its all manual testing so it takes a little longer then usual
