All the info that you need to solve the puzzle is already there - any other clues or hints would detract from the purpose of it really.

Ed - You know i am from the "if you don't see it then you're missing the obvious" club. This is my attempt at finding the hidden clue.

I meant by that - it's not something obvious so anyone missing it shouldn't be upset, like I said I'm confident that no one will get it - a large cash prize or something would have made it more interesting perhaps. I might consider that if this goes for X amount of time without it being solved.

There is a file hidden inside the photo - I didn't even encrypt it as I could have.
The file is the clue to find the answer - but that would take a little work as well if someone didn't know what they were looking at.

In the old days you could talk to each other without your message being scooped up and read by others,
then people used encryption but in almost all cases now - there are backdoors in the programs. If you still have the
original programs before they could be hacked, you could encrypt a message and then put it into any ordinary photo file
and post it as I did. Of course anyone looking at it would look at the items in the photo and not anything beyond that - unless they knew what they were looking for. Quite effective, even today.

I've hidden a clue in this image, can you find it ?

Without having the encryption program and key you would not be able to get to the file anyway.  This type of encryption was popular about 10-15 years ago.
