Weird as it may seem, I just started reading this book a few days ago.
All systems lose in the end, you can't polish a turd.

Atlas Shrugged was a book I was forced to read in high school and it completely changed how I saw the world as an almost-adult.  It is still the book I consider most important of all those I have read and I find myself referring to it constantly when I speak with my friends.  Some of the monologues are a little tiring to read, but I find the concept of personal liberty and responsibility a sound bedrock for a thriving society.  There are times that I would kill to get the tap on the shoulder to leave to the place where people are judged strictly on the merits of their efforts and abilities.  I wish all people would read the book and learn the lessons.

John Galt's Oath
I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

This book is credited with starting the whole damned
"Environment" nonsense.

It was c**p then and still is.
Eighty- four and counting.  Is age an excuse?
