When The Player Has The Edge Progression Quiz

The General

A fun test question.  Let's pretend that one of the systems/methods/strategies on the board has an edge

The player has a 6% edge, and plans on playing off and on over a period of several days for a total of 10k spins.   (I don't care about or want to know how the edge is obtained, and who's method it is.  This is not a debate about whether a system works or not.)

The player's starting bankroll is $1,000.  Which player will likely win the most money, and receive the most attention in the form of sex and love from his/her spouse or friend.  Player 1,2, or 3?

1. The player flat bets $50 every spin on the top numbers.

2. The player bets 1% of his bankroll distributed over his best numbers?  (His initial bet is only $10 in total.)

3. A player that runs an aggressive up as you lose betting progression 5,10,20,40,80,100,200?

Number one, two, or three?

I'd also say nr.2 for the money.

For sex, none of the above: they all are math geeks, i.e. no sex appeal, or swag, whatsoever.

There are a few assumptions, but probably TWO because 1% of the bankroll after time is higher than $50. So winnings get compounded.

#1 is the default

#2 is safest considering the math, although sustained play can get you detected, same as #1. And time is a big factor - to make the most in the least time possible, and while being covert. So such an approach is often not best depending on surveillance. But still overall #2 is best

#3 could do best. It more depends on which spins they won on. If the 6% edge was achieved with progression (although thats not a real edge), then they would have been very tense with some of those bets because what could be a big win could very easily be an even bigger loss. If the edge is not including the progression, then #3 might do best - it still depends on which spins they won.

I fully agree with Steve that 3 is the best
The only condition is that you should be really really sure that you have a positive edge ... then go for it and start printing money

Steve

I wouldnt personally go for #3 with a 6% edge. Its too small for aggressive progression. Overall #2 is best in this case.

How do you measure the edge in correspondence with the number of played spins ?

With a positibe edge the more you play the more you win. As the bankroll grows, the initial bet may turn from 10 to 15, 30 or whatever. So higher stakes bring higher profit. Keeping it at 1% of lifetime bankroll assures a steady safety margin.

According to you, positive edge can be verified only by checking profitability from flatbetting in a determined time interval ...

Right ?

How do you measure your edge if you using progression ?

Thats not what im saying. Youve got to have a 'verified' positive  edge in the first place.
Hoe to get it and verify it, thats a good question. Waiting for the generals answer though i dont think it the main point of this thread. Lets see.
