I think there are some other factors influencing the game except skills. Just like in roulette unbelievable things happen. A strong team may lose to a weaker one for some weird reasons. Or for no reasons at all. Out of blue just bad luck.

Also, the ban happened BEFORE the second defeat happened in the 3rd/4rth place game.
