ANOTHER PERSONAL ATTACK:  if posters can\'t  distinguish between criticising an IDEA and criticising THE PERSON BEHIND THE IDEA then they\'ve no right to be here.  .  .

There are always references to new players and how long their learning curve is.

I "discovered" online roulette over the Christmas holiday by idly moving from the racing pages on Paddy Power.

I think I have had my conversion although at the moment the light is more of a glimmer.    With my innate sense of optimism I don't think six months is at all bad.    I shall now try to apply myself to learning what really works and leave Fender style folly's to others.

Anyone else care to say how long they took to see the way.

Hope I've not upset anyone linking gambling and religion!

To end on a positive note I've made up the 116 points I lost on Fenders folly flat betting on single numbers.    Now that's what I call real luck.    I've stopped now while I think about my next move.

I have to defend myself.  Your seeing more in this than there is Esoito.

I have a problem with Fenders methods of tackling the game and from what I see so do many others.   It was easier to lump the systems under the title "Fenders Folly's" than list them all separately.  I also like the alliteration.

I'm happy to apologise to Fender if I've caused HIM any offence but so far he's not said so.

I reserve the right to have my say without being offensive and I believe I haven't. Been offensive that is.
I think that over the last month or so there has been enough evidence that these systems don't work, both from my own experience and from other more capable forum members.

Thanks Esoito for the report and thanks Trebor for keeping your reply civil.

QuotefolÃ,·lyââ,¬â€š ââ,¬â€š[fol-ee]  Show IPA
ââ,¬â€œnoun, plural -lies for 2ââ,¬â€œ6.
1.
the state or quality of being foolish; lack of understanding or sense.
2.
a foolish action, practice, idea, etc.; absurdity: the folly of performing without a rehearsal.

Now we need to hear Fender's word on this.

I hope we can reach consensus.

Fender does have the right to ask for the folly word to be removed/changed from the post if he feels offended by it.

...and remember as we are a new forum, these cases will set precedent and set the boundaries for our community.

Whether or not Fender is offended is not the issue.

I take your point about the alliteration -- very neat -- BUT it's unfortunate you linked
your criticisms with his NAME.

Had you thought twice and refrained from using his name associated with the inflammatory word 'folly' in the same breath (there are other ways to identify points you disagree with ) I would not have reacted.

Kindness to others is of paramount importance in a forum such as this.

Well done, though, for the polite and civilised way you defended yourself.

Well, giving it a bigger thought I have to agree here. As a matter of fact I'm changing the word for once on behalf of an offended community member.

You are right, whether or not Fender is offended, it is your right as a community member to report about something you deem offensive. This is why reporting is good. I simply can't read every post of the forum, and hence rely on people's reporting what they see as something out of the boundaries our community has to guide itself within.

Word changed to "methods":

I'm going to mark this topic as solved and leave it here "as is" for future reference.

Thanks.

OK. I'm happy to accept I crossed a boundary although I thought folly was innocuous.

I'm thinking that it could be a fine line between criticism of methods and insults.

Sorry Fender no offence meant.

Trebor.
