Odds and payouts are different things. If either the odds or payouts don't change, then the result is the same - eventual loss.

Not a single spin more!

When having a method/strategy with a pre-defined set of win-goal and stop-loss points, there are two factors that need to be mastered:

a) Leaving when you have reached the win goal. Not a single spin more.
b) Calming down on a losing session, swallowing, and leaving the table on that predefined loss point, not betting for another single spin more.

Yes, you would like to continue. You would like to retaliate, to get even and get your unit backs... Through your mind appear thoughts like: "It already has taken XYZ units, it can't take more", "it is time for it to recover" and the like, but most certainly it CAN take more units and the less certainty is for it to recover on a losing tram; not continuing on a losing streak after your loss point has been reached is one of the things that every successful player has mastered.

Regardless of the method of play, if you want to take yourself closer to belonging to the successful player figure you HAVE TO master this skill, as much as any other "must have" trait required for any other profession.

When you are facing the crossroad of staying or leaving, just say to yourself: "Not a single unit more". They can't take anything if you aren't betting, which is important as you lock  winning and cut losings.

Take a big breath, swallow and think you are doing the best for the overall AVERAGE.

Regards.

Good tips, Victor!

I'm not so much into roulette but it is the same with poker. Sometimes it's just not your day. You should have the guts to admit it to youself [as soon as possible], stand up and walk away.

Sometimes it's just not your day.

I firmly believe what differentiates long-term winners from the rest of people is the ability to recognize these days/sessions and acting correctly upon them.

The casinos seem to kill most bankrolls in the shortest time due to people's desperation. When you are desperate you make dumb moves. When on a losing tram, the worst thing to do is to get desperate and rise the bets in the hope that bad luck (read dispersion) with turn its way: this is a game of no limits.

When deviations take over, you better go with the deviated side. Of course you can have a certain "top" for it at the gross where -say- +95% of streaks cut,  right where the bell curve says most of them will cut; but you must also be aware of the other 5%  and when experiencing one of this 5% respect the fact it passed that common return point, and either stop betting or bet in favor of it.

You never know when it will be a record-breaking streak (both positive or negative). Ride the positive ones when possible, but never bet against the severe deviations.

I just can't believe when people say they can't identify losing trams, don't they see their chips/units decrementing right in front of them? That's a negative tram.

Shall you be in one of them, when you have a few units back (say 33% of the bank) and recoup it is better to leave right away.

The game goes goes in waves and more likely the more times you save the session with the lesser units, the closer you are to busting. Don't be a fool. Respect the game and don't tempt luck. "Save the soldiers for the next battle".

The moment to risk more is when on a winning tram, not when it is obviously a losing one. This becomes a long-shot and we know how they usually end: long-gone.

This is 100% a matter of personal attitude, nobody but the person itself can help.

Regards and thanks for commenting dear Mistar.
