This poll is to learn more about RouletteForum.cc users.

It helps in making decisions such as: "Would it be worth to consider porting roulette apps to linux or mac?" and "Should a roulette programming language target multi-platform", etc.

This is important since for 2011 there are some projects and we -the developers around- need to know what to expect.

Thanks for answering this poll; feel free to post your comments below.

hahaha, so we do have a "Mackie"! :D

Well, regarding the question. It is important since knowing the target audience of the forum enables developers to cater the most efforts where it is used the most.

For instance, I was going to go the whole wxWidgets way for Using the same codebase for Windows/Linux and Mac... but -on the other hand- Linux and Mac users can enjoy the program with WINE!

Also, there are other alternatives such as the MONO project, which allow an application written for .NET to run in Linux and the Mac.

So many cross-platform options!

As long as tested with wine properly, it is ok to program for windows only. Another good option is qt.

mr.ore

Wine can run .NET apps if mono is installed

link:://wiki.winehq.org/Mono

as long as tested, there should not be a problem.

Indeed, WINE can be seen as a "runtime" for Linux/Mac and the other supported OS's

QT development is OK too. although I wouldn't change the "nativeness" on windows.

Many thanks dear Ore,

Is it safe to assume most Linux users can install MONO + WINE without any problems?  :)

Cheers!

I use Mac.

I have a second partition with Windows 7 (I hardly use it, but it can be usefull).
Multi-platform programming would be nice.

All the applications for roulette or baccarat systems I wrote, were programmed in Flash, so that every single operating system can run it.

Take care;)

Thanks for your answer Trylo, so we DO have a Mac user! :)

Flash is great for TRACKERS, but you can't do bots (i.e. clicking a number, or reading numbers from other windows, such as a casino window).

It is a very sweet multi-platform environment indeed, for those apps that don't need crunching numbers at fast speeds; very sweet indeed.

More close to that "code one, run everywhere"... ah, the holy grail of programming:)

crunching number at fast speeds is possible in flash, but indeed all the bot work (reading from screen and clicking) can't be done :/

I have never had any operating system that has been so safe and fast as Linux Ubuntu "stabel version" and even run RX on it and so on.

If some one want it safe and good with out virus and so on.

Tripe wire - no one can get to your computer with out you notice hahaha
Avaste - for visus and you will get no detection and years just pass
Router - that just make it complete.
Denial of gamblers fallacy is usually seen in people who has Roulette as last option for a way to wealth, debt covering and a independent lifestyle.  Next step is pretty ugly-
AP - It's not that it can't be done, but rather people don't really have a clue as to the level of fanaticism and outright obsession that it takes to be successful, let alone get to the level where you can take money out of the casinos on a regular basis. Out of 1,000 people that earnestly try, maybe only one will make it.
