Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

I think you deserve to know what is happening.

Something family-breaking happened and the last few days I have been only dealing with moving, lawers and starting divorce.

Sorry for not answering dear friends. Now you know the reason.

The wife has moved and by it I'm sad to announce I've been separated from Victor Jr. and he is not living any longer here at my household. I need to make adjustements on my personal life therefore. Here in Venezuela the law stablish that when there is a child in the middle there must be a year before validating divorces, so I'm not officially "un-married" until 2012.

We have tried everything, this is the second time something similar happens.
Those were great years, but a time must come when things simply can't go on, and one has to move forward.

I am gathering myself back again, the worst has happened already, and as I get myself back I have more motivation for giving more to Vic Jr. since he is my son for a lifetime. I am more motivated to work harder now. Both on- and off-line. I must prove I'm a suitable parent for enough share of his custody.

Thanks again for your kind words of support, this is a particularly hard time and it is reassuring to feel you as part of my life do care too.

Your grateful and friendly forum admin,
Victor

Hi Victor,

Having gone though a similar thing as you 18 months ago my heart goes out to you, I am still raw from the experience, but you have to go on for the children, and do your very best for them and you.

I would love to tell you that with time things will get better and on the whole it does, but at times the pain and hurt comes flooding back, that is when you need your friends and family around you to help you through the tough times.

You have a lot of friends on this forum and I am sure in your personal life, and the one thing I have learnt though this experience is never be afraid or too proud to ask for help.

You are never truly on your own when you have friends/family and people around you that care for you.

Be strong.

Philip

I've never been married, but I do remember the pains of a divorce from 34 years ago with my parents and wouldn't want anyone I cared about to have to go through this.

Malcop was right in that you have many friends here at the Forum.  If there is anything I can do to help, just ask.

I will be praying for you and yours.

Thank you for your messages.

I do feel comforted by all your kind words.

Thank you.

Victor
The first time this happened we mailed each other on the old VLS because I have been through this too.
So I am concerned that you are back in this situation. If I can help in anyway then  you can find me here....and as you can see others are here for you too.

Hello Victor,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Divorce is always a difficult thing, but itââ,¬â,,¢s even harder when youââ,¬â,,¢re separated from your children. Hereââ,¬â,,¢s hoping that you and Victor Jr. will be re-united as soon as possible.

Yes, this is recurrent. I think there isn't much left to do.

I have seen this type of "loops" over other people's marriages and it always end up badly. One must put stops while people still can talk to each other as there is a child in between.

I know the fight for Jr. is barely starting, I'm willing to put up plenty of myself into it. Getting out of my "comfort zone" regarding jobs and adjusting my life accordingly.

I know this is for the better. One of the things I have learned is "lyfe comes in cycles"... and an open cycle will come back the same later again. One has to address matters with measures if one wants better outcomes.

We are being reunited. I'm seeing him later today.

We are set to talk to the lawer in some hours and both of us must be present. She brings him!

Thank you very much again dear friends.

Yours truly,

Your friendly forum admin.

An update on the situation.

Yesterday she brought Jr. and we went to a neighbor lawyer to check her fees, documentation, etc.

Lawyer adviced us to take some time to talk about it, that she sees it every day: fought couples who start divorce just to cancel it and losing all legal fees in the process.

She said there is an opportunity since at least we can talk to each other. Real bad cases end up with only lawyers talking to each other on behalf of each party and not the couple.

It happened on sunday, and it's been less than a week since. She said she is OK to get the documentation, but not making it official until at least we discuss it for some weeks; that it is the better for the child, and anyway the "separation of bodies" legal resource is there to allow for a year of reconciliation.

With a minor under 5, Venezuelan law establish the couple must use "separation of bodies" instead of a flat divorce. So in any case we aren't going to be divorced right away.

I'll keep you guys updated.

I must retake my regular working schedule, so I'll be more time online around.

Thanks for your concerns and caring.
