Author's System with a controlled progression

Just when you thought I had given up because of Iggiv's challenge regarding progressions, out comes the pinnacle of all controlled progression systems.

What do I mean by "controlled progression"?  All progressions are controlled in some way.  The martingale is a progression that controls what your next bet size is.

Alembert (+1 on loss, -1 on win) is a controlled progression.  The progression controls what your next bet size is depending on whether you won or lost the last bet.

Fibonacci is a controlled progression.  It is volatile because the progression gets increasingly larger with a greater number of losses which keeps you from having to grind your way out of a hole after a heavy concentration of losses.  The higher risk is necessary to compensate for the luxury of a faster recovery.

I have come up with what I think is an excellent bet progression to use with "The Author's System".  You will find that post here:   link:://rouletteforum.cc/bet-selection/author's-system/

This new bet progression is what improves the system.

The bet progression used by the author is 1-2-3-6.

The bet selection is Same as last; Opposite last; Same as last; Opposite last.

With the author's progression, we can only win if we hit on one of the first two bets.

I'm going to change the author's progression to 1-2-4-8.

This means that we will win 1 unit if we hit any of the 4 bets.

We're not going to stop there, we're going to bet for 2 wins in a row, but we're not going to bet small and let-it-ride, rather our first bet of the two bets is going to be a little larger and the 2nd bet a little smaller.

This means that if we win our 1st bet but lose our 2nd bet, we don't necessarily have to move to the next higher level because we will have won some recovery units.

Example:  If we lose 1-2-4-8 bets, we will be down 15 units.  Our next two bets are 9/6.  These two bets add up to 15 and recovers the 15 units you are down.  (if you want, you can bet 9/7 which is 16 units and leaves you with a 1 unit profit rather than just even).

If you win the 9 unit bet and lose the 6 unit bet, you have still recovered 3 units and can drop your bet sizes to 8/4 instead of going to the next level above 9/6 which is 15/9.

This gives you more control over your bet sizes because you don't really have to win 2 in a row to move closer to full recovery.

The following is our progression:

If lose           bet size

-1                       1
-3                       2
-7                       4
-15                     8
-24                     9-6         This means we bet 9 and if we win we bet 6 next.
-39                     15-9
-63                     24-15
-87                     24-24-15  This means we bet 3 times for a full recovery.
-126                   39-24-24
-189                   63-39-24
-276                   87-39-39-24  This means we bet 4 times for a full recovery.
-402                   126-63-63-24
-591                   189-87-87-39

You should keep this chart with you because at any time you want, after a win, you can move back down the chart a few steps if you are getting to a bet size that is too large for your comfort zone.

Example:  let's say we are at -189.  This means we are having a very bad series.  Our 1st bet is 87 units.  Let's say we win this bet, our next bet is 39 units.  Let's say we win this bet also.  This means that we have recovered 126 of the 189 units we are down.  That means we only have 63 units left to recover.  If we look back down our betting chart, we see that when we are 63 units down, our next bets are 24-24-15.  If we want, we can drop our bet size from 39 which is the next size according to the chart, and play 24 instead.  This brings us back to a less risky level in our progression.

If we wanted, we could eliminate the last bet or two at any level and move back down the line to the appropriate level.

This does mean that we will have to win an extra bet or two to fully recover, but it also gives us more opportunity to do so.

I realize that these betting methods I have posted are not for everyone and maybe they aren't for anyone.  Why not test them with the recommended bet selection and see how you like it.  Or, you can play it with your favorite bet selection and see how you do.

Remember, as posted, you can lose 591 units playing this way (or you can set your own number of levels thus decreasing or increasing the number of units you can lose).  Be fully aware of the risks of using any negative progression.

If you could easily buy a ticket to the 2012 Superbowl with the money you're risking and you wouldn't bat an eye, then you can probably afford to play this progression. :o   If you can't afford to throw that much money into the Salvation Army kettle at Christmas time, then you probably can't afford to risk it on roulette either! :'(

Just a word to the wise.

Luck to all,

George

I don't often bet the inside numbers.  I do have a progression from some notes on Diodoro's work for 12 #'s

1-1-2-3-4-6-9-14-21-32-47-72.

Note that each stage is the units bet on each of the 12 numbers.  Also note that this is nothing more than the martingale for a dozen, but applied to each individual number rather than to the dozen.

Warrior,

Another progression that is often used by TurboGenius is to bet 1 unit on each number.  After a win, if you are even or ahead, continue to bet 1 unit on each number.  If you are down, increase the bet size by 1 unit and bet 2 units on each number.

Continue in this fashion.  If you are still down add 1 unit to the bet size on each number until you finally win and reach a new high bank, then reset to 1 unit.
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!
