Odds and payouts are different things. If either the odds or payouts don't change, then the result is the same - eventual loss.

Matty,  If you know where Victor's post is, would you mind posting it here so anyone who's interested can read it.  This is also using Matt Johno's system where he played the R/B and when a Red spun you looked back to the last Red to see what came after it.  He used that trigger as the beginning of a trend in that if a Black came after the last Red, he bet for a Black to come after this one.  Same idea and it worked pretty well.  He decided that it was too much of a grind and moved on to greener pastuers, or so he thought.

i'll keep looking for the original post but here is some of it.

In my opinion betting on 5 lines is a very risky proposition. They tend 2 repeat in clusters.  I studied opposite bet. Betting 4 repeats using long progression.  U would be probably better off just betting flat n hoping 2 catch a trend. I observed streaks of 30+ without repeats. :D

That's a novel ideal.  So we play the lines and when we have a loss we change to betting the same method but on the dozens that way we're only risking 2 units per bet instead of 5 units and each win still nets us 1 unit.

I was considering something similar.  Bet 5 lines until you have a loss and then bet only 4 lines until you recover (only 3 wins nets us 6 units and it gives a unit for profit also).  We look at the 2 lines following the trigger to determine which 4 lines to add.  This is similar to what you suggest except that it costs 4 units.

I still am leaning toward a flat bet on this method.

I think I will look at your idea only I will start by playing Streets.  That's 11 units per bet.  On a loss, I will drop down to Lines for 5 units risked for each unit recovered and if I lose on the Lines before recovery I will drop down to dozens.  If I don't recover fully by the time I lose while playing the dozens, I will take the loss and return to Streets and keep going.

So, I would never bet more than 1 unit on each of whatever I'm playing, Streets, Lines, Dozens.  I wonder if we could throw the High/Low even chance as a cleanup bet?

A lot to think about Warrior.  Thanks for the suggestion.

P.S.  I still think Hybrid DC4 is one of the best so far.  I'm just a little overwhelmed by all the new systems to look at.
What you can do is reverse the hybrid so your starting with columns first as your trigger, then when you get your trigger bet against  the dozen  but you add a line to it making it 5 lines ,if you lose, bet on the column for recoverey, and if you lose try a even money bet on your last dozen, the strike rate is good on the hybrid ,you never no

Here's a test playing all three locations.
Ended with +25 units playing 1-2-4-8  progression.
A flat bet would have ended +11 units.   Not bad again for the flat bet!
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!

I did another test based on the double zero zumma roulette 15000 spins starting at spin #200.
I did all three locations, Streets, Lines and Dozens but I kept track of them separately.
As you can see, using the 1-2-4-8-16-32 progression we did quite well, although I did have some pretty large bets to make.
8 units on 11 spots on the streets.
50 units on 5 spots on the lines.
8 units on 2 spots on the dozens.
Netted +94 units for all three.  Streets = +32   Lines = +32   Dozens = +30
Flat betting?  Not so well this time.  Overall -39 units.  Streets = -20  Lines = -20  Doz = +1
This is more what I expected from the system.  I would call this an average session.  Maybe too rich for some people's blood.  On a $10 minimum table having to bet 50 units on 5 spots is 250 units times $10 each unit equals a measley $2,500 bucks.  The only one I know who can spring for that kind of green is "the winner, not the whiner".    Inside joke.

There are of course less aggressive bet progressions than this 1-2-4-8-16-32 etc... progressions.  I test a couple of them on these results and see how they perform.
In my case it doesn't matter.  I'm both!
